Official published figures, checked 29 October 2026. These are national figures with different definitions and periods; they are not directly comparable, local risk estimates or a measure of device effectiveness. A dash cam cannot prevent every collision and no security device guarantees recovery.

Choose the Right Tools

Different Jobs. One Clear Plan.

RECORD

Dash Cam

Records a view of events. Front and rear cameras add different angles; compatible parking modes can record while parked.

It is not a guarantee of clear footage, fault decisions or theft prevention.

LOCATE

Vehicle Tracker

Provides location information, depending on the device, coverage and service. A monitored service may support the recovery process.

Check subscriptions and any insurer requirements before choosing. GPS in a dash cam is not necessarily live tracking.

Discuss Tracking Options →
RESTRICT

Immobiliser

Restricts starting or driving unless the correct authorisation is present. It serves a different purpose from recording or locating.

Suitability depends on the vehicle and system. Ask about compatibility; do not assume every system meets your policy.

Small Habits Matter

Start With the Everyday Essentials.

01

Lock, Then Check

Check the doors, windows and sunroof when leaving the vehicle. Remove visible valuables and choose well-lit or secure parking where possible.

02

Keep Keys Secure

Keep keys and spares away from entrances. For keyless systems, follow the vehicle manufacturer’s guidance and regularly test any signal-blocking pouch.

03

Know Your Equipment

Check that the camera records and that you know how to save a clip. Keep tracking-provider contacts, insurance details and relevant job documents accessible.
